Ontario Employment Rate September 2011, 7.6%
In case you're wondering, I'll do some provincial election analysis tomorrow. Thank any divine force out there that there is no Liberal majority.
Anyways, the Canada employment numbers are out, and employment rose 61,000 and the unemployment rate declined to 7.1% to 7.3%.
Interesting, I looked at a lot of different newspaper articles and none seemed to be reporting the Ontario numbers. Weirdly this included Ontario newspapers (the Spec, I'm looking at you). However in the link I provided, there was some Ontario information:
So no job growth in Ontario for September. Great. And none in August either. Double great. Why most Ontario newspapers couldn't report this is a bit of a mystery, although I guess it would conflict with the narrative that Dalton McGuinty isn't a terrible premier that the mainstream media has been peddling. I'm waiting for those green jobs to kick in any time.
One thing to keep in mind about the September numbers is that apparently teachers returning to school can screw up the stats.
